Voyalingo is owned and operated by Maya Systems Corp ("we", "us", or "our"). Voyalingo is a language-learning mobile application designed to help English-speaking travellers learn practical phrases in other languages. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
We collect the following information:
Account information: Email address, display name, and profile photo (when you sign in with Google or create an account).
Usage data: Which days and languages you have completed, and your progress through the learning challenges.
Purchase records: When you unlock premium content, we store a record of the Google Play purchase token to verify and restore your purchase. No credit card details are collected or processed by us.
Device identifiers: A randomly generated anonymous ID stored on your device so you can use the app without signing in.
Voice recordings: Audio you record during pronunciation practice sessions. These are transmitted securely to Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services for real-time scoring and are not stored permanently.
We use your information to:
Provide and improve the Voyalingo service.
Restore your purchased content across devices.
Remember your learning progress.
Score your pronunciation using Microsoft Azure Speech Services.
Respond to support requests.
Voyalingo uses the following third-party services to function:
Google Firebase Authentication — To manage sign-in with Google and email/password accounts. Firebase Privacy Policy
Google Play Billing — To process in-app purchases. Google's Privacy Policy
Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (Speech) — To score your spoken pronunciation. Azure Privacy
Microsoft Azure Blob Storage — To serve pre-generated audio files of target-language phrases.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.
How to Delete Your Data: You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can initiate this immediately within the app by navigating to the Profile screen and selecting "Delete Account". Alternatively, you can submit a deletion request by emailing us at support@mayasystemscorp.com.
Upon account deletion, your account record, email, profile data, and app entitlements will be permanently removed from our active database within 30 days. Voice recordings are processed entirely in-memory and are not retained beyond the immediate duration of each pronunciation scoring request.
Depending on your location (including the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988), you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request permanent deletion of your data.
Data portability.

Voyalingo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure database storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
